Swan Mental Health (OCD) and Education Advocacy/Tutoring

Are you struggling with OCD? Anxiety? Do you have a child who has always been "different" by the world's standards and you just can't connect with? A student who needs tutoring in Executive Functioning Skills? I will be your advocate/coach through any of these things. I have years of experience in living with OCD, raising children with OCD, childhood trauma, and teaching and parenting a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have taught Special Education for eleven years and have fostered 73 children over the span of seven. My knowledge base is large. You've got this, and I've got your back!

About

I am a licensed Special Education Teacher who started as a Behavior Disorder Teacher for Elementary students in Kansas City. After taking a break to raise my family, including two children with special needs, I have advocated for them within hospital and school systems. I understand the challenges of advocating within an unfamiliar system.

During this time, we also fostered 72 children at our home in Kansas City. You can read about that here.

I currently am entering my fourth year as a Special Education Teacher at a small private school. In this role especially I have learned to fiercely but kindly advocate for the students in our school who I have determined need evaluations or other Special Education Services within the districts surrounding our school.

I will work diligently with you to not only help you feel comfortable in the process, but to get to really know your child. We will spend time going over your child’s educational, social and mental health history as well as what services your child may currently be receiving.
